Golden Gate Home Hospice and Euthanasia

Dr. Brian Van Horn was great. We just had to put our elderly dog down. He was very nice. Dr. Van Horn explained everything and gave us time to allow to say good bye. He was very empathetic and professional. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a home visit veterinarian for end of life care.

Dr. Van Horn (Brian) made the worst day for us the easiest it could be. Our sweet animal passed peacefully, and Brian supported us through the whole process. Brian had a specific process that gently guided us and kind words that helped alleviate our anxiety. His empathy was felt, and we can't thank him enough for taking on this difficult yet critical task. We are so grateful.

Golden Gate Vet helped me through one of the most difficult days of my life with grace and compassion. My beautiful boy Charlie became unexpectedly sick and failed efforts to medically manage his condition. I made the decision to end his life while he still had some quality of life. Golden Gate Vet walked me through this decision and helped reassure me throughout. Their team member who I spoke with and guided me was Zane, who was so warm and responsive and answered all my questions. On the day, Dr. Brian Van Horn came to my home and spent time getting to know my family. Charlie’s actual death was heart-destroying but there’s no escaping that, and Dr. Van Horn deeply cared and was present with me and Charlie through everything. Golden Gate Vet also helped set up Charlie’s private cremation and removed his body from my home. They helped me navigate the most difficult day and decision of my life, and allowed Charlie to die with dignity at home surrounded by love and warmth and treats. I’m forever indebted to them.

Brian, is the vet that came to our house to Euthanize our beloved terrier Milo. Brian Was compassionate, experienced, and made our sad & painful day a tolerable situation, my wife and I highly recommend him & thank him for his caring and friendly services.

I never thought I'd write a five star review for a service like this but here I am. Dr. Van Horn made saying goodbye to our beloved dog one of the most meaningful, respectful, and love-filled experiences of my life. We spent years agonizing over this decision, unsure what the right thing to do was, and Dr. Van Horn gave us all the time in the world to talk it through and evaluate the options. I hope anyone who has the painful experience of saying goodbye to a pet, has someone as wise and compassionate (maybe even poetic?) as Dr. Van Horn there to lead them through. It's been almost two months and I still think about him everyday with appreciation for being there and helping us. We miss our buddy but we're so grateful he is at peace over rainbow bridge and that he had the best goodbye a dog could possibly have. Thank you again to this team and Dr. Van Horn
