Presidio Pet Cemetery

This was an unexpected discovery on a recent visit to the city. What a beautiful—and meticulously maintained—final resting spot for our best friends. Absolutely a treasure.

What a charming & unique cemetery this was. An assortment of pets, surrounded by gardens & with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge! It was fun walking around to see the variety headstones with the names of the pets.

This is a special place for special pets. Overflowing with love and flowers.

It's a very small but cute cemetery. I'd recommend going even if you don't have a pet here, it's just nice to visit/walk and look at how much these pets were once loved.

I don't know if this is a hidden gem, but it sure is unique, and filled with...history...I'm not quite sure how to describe the love and dedication that that we feel for our pets, those constant companions (except for cats...!), but to see this within the stoic military, is beautiful. If you're walking the trail, stop here for a moment of reflection, a laugh or two (some of the headstones are really funny), and think of how the world is made better with or furry companions.
