The Humane Society of Tampa Bay

Incredible place doing God's work. Animals are vaccinated upon arrival and many need and deserve a loving home. Honored to volunteer st this establishment. The dogs brought me so much joy. Punkin is just so darn cute.

I went to meet 2 different dogs in hopes of finding the right one for me. In the process of meeting 1, a 3rd puppy locked eyes with me and I couldn’t resist and added her to the list. Once I met her, it was love at first site. She was the sweetest, calmest good girl and very timid. It felt like she chose me. Her name is Lyla and she has her forever home. Huge turn around from shelter to a family that loves her. Smart, goofy and lovable. The staff here were very friendly, very informative and patient. The place is clean, homey and welcoming.

Adopted from here twice. Staff friendly, facility clean, pets are well taken care of, simply process to adopt. Down side is parking, which is very limited. I love adopting from here and most likely will choose to adopt again. They are friendly, process is not complicated, and quick was out within the hour and half or less. Anyone who's never been here and want to adopt: following general steps-> Come in person, go to animal enclosure (signs on walls tells you which way to go (all on the first floor, past the help desk, left or right), there are printed profiles of each pet in the rooms with the pet by the door, grab the one you want, take it back to front desk, fill out text sent form page prompts sent by staff. Wait. Go to front when prompted via text, pay via text sent form page and take home choosen pet in an adequate store or home bought carrier.

I can’t thank the team at the Humane Society enough for the care and compassion they showed during one of the hardest moments of our lives. Saying goodbye to our sweet Toby was heartbreaking, but they made the process so peaceful and full of love. Every step from the gentle way they explained things to the tenderness they showed Toby was handled with such kindness. They gave us time, space, and understanding, everything we needed to say goodbye in the most loving way possible including eating chocolate before going to heaven. Even though it was such a painful time, their compassion brought comfort and peace. I’ll always be grateful for the way they helped Toby transition with dignity and care, and for the comfort they gave us in that moment. 15 years still wasn’t enough with Toby. We love and miss him more than words can ever say. 🐾🌈

The Tampa Bay Humane Society is truly an outstanding organization. The staff went above and beyond to make sure “Betsy” — now lovingly renamed Butterball — was the perfect match for me. She’s been such a wonderful addition to my home and has brought so much joy to my life. I can’t thank the team enough for their kindness, professionalism, and dedication in helping make this adoption possible.
