Friends Affordable Pet Cremation provides compassionate pet aftercare services in Dallas, TX.
I can’t speak to how they are during the week, my dog died late Saturday night so I called Sunday morning. A guy answered and was kind, but brief: they immediately (as soon as you call) send you a text with a link for services. The guy who answered instructed me to fill all that out and then after payment call back and they would give me more information about drop off location. Now: we all love our pets and their death is a horrid tragedy and a self service drop off was not what I had imagined when I paid my $375. I did opt for a $99 dollar paw print with frame and $19 little round 1 inch metal thing with his name and date of death, and a private cremation, and he was under 30lbs so that made it cheaper. However: after I paid I called and the guy told me the details, the details I wish I had known ahead of time. I had to bring my dog to the location. Use a keypad to get inside. A door that does not self prop… so you have to fight the door while you try to get your box or tub or whatever you have your animal in. The room you enter is approximately 6ft wide by 12 feet long. There is a metal table against the wall in front of you and a few empty cardboard boxes lining the walls. They have separate lids. Inside the cardboard boxes is a white piece of plastic. You have to select the size most appropriate for your animal. You have to remove your animal from whatever you brought them in and put them in the box. You have to put a county fair style wristband on them (and remember to take a picture of it or you will be pulling them back out of the cooler to get the picture of the band cause you have to upload it). And you have to open a door that seems like you’re in the wrong place when you open it because it’s as wide as the door and about 6 feet deep and has rolling bar racks and you put the box with your beloved inside: and if you are like me and wait til the end to scan the QR code to check your pet in, you have to get back in the cooler to scan the tag. Also… the $99 pawprint… if you have a dog that requires grooming and his foot hair is long… plan on trimming that yourself before taking him in because they don’t do that either. They don’t do paw molds and they don’t do hair lock snips and provide a piece of their hair. They will “do their very best” to get the entire paw print… but after much rephrasing… I did get the guy to tell me I should trim the paw hair because they will not. If they are unable to get a pawprint they will cremate your dog and refund your money: like that’s what you wanted. They were super fast. I dropped him off on Sunday and got a text he was ready Tuesday. The lady who presented me with his paw print and ashes was very kind. But this place… i certainly do not not not recommend. I never wanted to bring my dead baby back inside and lay him in his bed and uncover his back foot so I could tr him hair to ensure I’d have a keepsake momento. Never would I ever. I did it: and I have the print. But this place… I’d find somewhere else that actually provides some services. This self service stuff is horrid. And not cheap: my friend said it cost $79 to get her dog cremated thru her vet and they took a paw imprint and gave an urn an everything. I opted for the $2 cardboard box cause the cheapest one they had was $50 and we all know about Amazon. So if you want to do all the stuff I just said on a weekend… that’s what it is. Otherwise… talk to your vet. Plan ahead. Find your nearest 24 hour animal hospital. And love those babies while you have them.
We loved this place so quick and easy. They handled our baby with so much care. Keyton was awesome he gave us all the instructions for the drop off made our night run so smooth. Rebecca was so sweet and gentle. Highly recommended this place to family and friends.
Amazingly kind and friendly staff. I lost my fur baby last Wednesday evening. My best friends recommended this place, and we immediately booked our drop off that same night. They sent us updates in a timely manner, and we actually just picked up my Luna’s ashes this morning. The team working today were very warm, welcoming, empathetic, and efficient during the pickup process.
When my poor sweet baby was murdered by the coyotes, it was a Sunday morning. Not only were they available at 7 am to take my call but answered my questions quickly, and the process was quick to schedule him in, which was immediately. They give you the instructions for you to bring your pet in and have everything you need if you don’t have a box already. Even when I picked my kitties ashes only and it says it might take a while, it only took three days! The staff is so kind and so courteous because they know you’re hurting. They are polite, and calm. I would definitely recommend friends cremation for your fur baby.
Friends pet cremation was a great help during a very hard time for me. They handled my pet with care and compassion. They were quick and made the process as easy as possible for me. Thank you
